1. Make a Traditional Corned Beef Supper

On St. Paddy’s Day in Ireland, households across the country make a traditional corned beef supper. Why not do as the Irish do by making your own corned beef supper from scratch? All you need is corned beef, sauerkraut, and potatoes. In just a few hours you’ll have a real Irish meal ready to enjoy for family or guests.

2. Donate to a Green Charity

There are many worthy charities that help people and communities all over the world to go green. Find one near your apartments in Redwood City and donate your time or money to help the charity achieve their goals.

3. Make an Irish Coffee

Irish coffee is a delicious warm treat that is perfect for chilly afternoons in your apartment in Redwood City, California. Making Irish coffee is easy. Just brew a regular cup of coffee and add 1/8 of a cup of Irish whisky. Top off with whipped cream. This is the perfect after dinner drink for serving after your traditional corned beef supper, too!

4. Watch an Irish Movie

The Irish film industry has turned out some blockbuster hits like My Left Foot, In the Name of the Father, The Crying Game, and Darby O’Gill and the Little People. Out of all the wonderful movies that Ireland has created, you and your family are bound to find at least one that everyone will enjoy.

5. Pop Some Green Popcorn

While you’re watching an Irish flick, why not munch on a unique green snack? You can easily make your popcorn green using food coloring. Just pop your popcorn as usual. Put in a large bowl and set aside. Next, melt some butter in a saucepan. Add several drops of green food coloring to the butter until it’s the color you want. When all the butter is melted, just stir it into the popcorn and your popped kernels will take on a green hue.

Bouquet of RosesValentine’s Day is the perfect chance for you to show your loved one how much they mean to you. Whether your loved one is your spouse or still just a very good friend, here are five special things you can do at your Township Apartments in Redwood City.

1. Make a Homemade Dinner

2. Make It Their Day

It’s not often that adults get to do whatever they want all day long. Why not create a magical Valentine’s Day this year by making it their day? Give your love free rein to spend the day with you as they choose. Maybe it will be a walk on the tree-lined jogging path near the apartments in Redwood City, or a trip to the local farmers market. Whatever they want, the day is theirs!

3. Turn It Into a First Date

Rekindle the bonds of love that brought you together with your love by making this Valentine’s Day a first date. Agree to meet at a local restaurant or bar for your first date and play the part of two strangers just getting to know each other.

5. Write a Poem

Nothings spells romance like a handwritten custom poem. Lay your heart out on paper and deliver it with a bouquet of fresh roses. For a special touch, write the poem on custom stationery that bears your initials. Your love will cherish the poem forever. If you really want to crush it, read the poem aloud while your love relaxes on the balcony of your Township apartment.

8 Tips for Hosting Friendsgiving

November 14th, 2016

Celebrating Thanksgiving with your close friends is a great way to enjoy the holiday – and an opportunity to share some of the workload that goes along with the feast. Hosting your own Friendsgiving can be a challenge, but it is a challenge that yields a lot of rewards if you do it right. The following tips will help you get the most out of your role as host, and ensure that you and your friends have a great time!

Hosting Thanksgiving In Redwood City, California

1. Take advantage of where you are.

Living in Redwood City means you have access to some of the best produce in the country. Thanksgiving can consist of way more than turkey and mashed potatoes. Do some research and find some exciting recipes. You should be able to find everything you need close by.

2. Make a plan.

As a host, you are going to want to make sure everything goes smoothly. Planning is a must, so take a little time to map out your event. Will guests be bringing food? If so, what? You don’t want to have three dishes of cranberry sauce. Decide on your recipes ahead of time, etc.

3. Pick dishes that can be made ahead of time.

The actual day of Thanksgiving is going to be packed full of work, much of it cooking. While you may be confident of your ability to juggle a full kitchen, you will thank yourself later if you choose some recipes that can be made beforehand. Desserts and sides in particular are great for making ahead of time.

4. Check your ingredients.

Even though you have access to great markets and grocery stores, there is still a chance that you may not be able to find some ingredients on your list. You don’t want to find out that you can’t season your food correctly a day before your event. Get every ingredient that won’t spoil a few weeks before the event, and verify that you can get the things that will spoil fairly easily.

5. Try out new recipes once before making them for guests.

If it is practical to do so, make any new recipes once to get familiar with them before you make a new dish for guests. Obviously this won’t be possible with every recipe, but keep in mind that practice will improve your results.

6. Ask for help.

Your friends probably don’t expect you to do everything yourself. Make sure to ask for help if you need it.

7. Buy high-quality if using prepared food.

If you run into a situation where you need to buy a dish that has already been prepared, make sure you buy it from a company known for quality. You want everyone to love the food, so it is worth paying for.

8. Have fun.

If you start to feel overwhelmed, stop. Thanksgiving is supposed to be enjoyable. Delegate tasks if necessary, or simplify.

5 Nontraditional Thanksgiving Recipes

November 4th, 2016

You’re living your own lifestyle in your Redwood City apartment. Why sit down to the same old Thanksgiving dishes you’ve been eating for years? Changing things doesn’t have to mean skipping your favorites, but it’s refreshing to switch things up with a fresh new face. Here are five recipes to get your imagination started.

Turkey Quesadillas

Spray a pan with cooking spray and lay a large flour tortilla in the center. Top half with shredded turkey, cranberry sauce gouda cheese and chopped pecans. Fold the other half of the tortilla onto the turkey mixture and cook over medium heat until the bottom is browned. Flip carefully and brown the other half. Cut finished quesadilla into triangles and dip into warm cranberry compote.

Turkey Sliders

Make hamburger patties of ground turkey and grill them until brown. Slice dinner rolls for buns and top the burgers with cranberry sauce, sliced mushrooms and salad greens. Alternatively, set up all the topping ingredients and let your guests enjoy a turkey burger bar. Make sweet potato fries for the perfect side dish.

Apple Cider Mimosas

Who needs dinner wine when you’ve got this tasty cocktail? Fill champagne flutes halfway with apple cider (fresh is best) and top with champagne or sparkling white wine. If you want to be really fancy, garnish the glasses with a paper-thin slice of red apple.

Creamy Cheese Grits

If you’re tired of the same old boring mashed potatoes, these luscious grits make the perfect substitution. Bring 5 1/2 cups of water to a boil. Whisk in 1 1/2 cups of grits and a pinch of salt. Cover and cook over low heat for about 25 minutes, whisking often, until the grits are thick and creamy. Stir in 2 tablespoons of butter and 1/3 cup of freshly grated Parmegiano-Reggiano cheese. Serve immediately and be prepared for requests for seconds.

Jalapeño Corn Bread

This spicy version of your favorite side bread adds a kick that goes surprisingly well with traditional turkey. Mix up your favorite batter and add three or four chopped jalapeños. Add the seed and white ribs from inside for an extra spicy kick. Serve with cayenne-spiced butter.

La Honda is known for making both white and red wines.

It is a beautiful theater where you can watch presentations, music, dance performances and plays. The venue actually has to offer a lot of attractions to the visitors. The theater is known for its old world charm though it has undergone renovations several times.
